Sahara Hayes photo 1Sahara is a lifelong Utahn who is passionate about the ways nonprofit organizations and local governments can be a force for good in their communities. Prior to joining Pathway Sahara worked for the West Valley City Division of Arts & Culture, managing their portfolio of grants throughout the lifecycle of the awards. While this typically included research, grant writing, and reporting, she also secured extensive emergency funding for the organization at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to her role with West Valley City she worked as a program coordinator for Heart & Soul, a local nonprofit organization. 

After earning her bachelor’s degree from Westminster College she graduated from the University of Utah with a Master’s of Public Administration, where she focused on nonprofit and local government administration. She has served on the Millcreek Community Council and the board of directors for the Utah Cultural Celebration Center Foundation. Sahara currently serves in the Utah Legislature, representing House District 32. She lives in Millcreek with her partner and a small pack of beloved pets.
