Deb-cropped-high-res.jpg Born and educated in the UK, Debbie established an early career and earned a master’s degree in HR before emigrating to the US, where she raised a family and embarked upon a second career in nonprofit management. After earning a second master’s degree in professional communications at Westminster College, she served as director of marketing and development at Make-A-Wish Utah, where she also oversaw their portfolio of fundraising events and grew their revenue stream year on year. During her time at Children’s Miracle Network, Debbie was responsible for multi-million-dollar accounts. While serving at Susan G. Komen for the Cure as executive director, she oversaw their flagship Race for the Cure which involved more than 17,000 participants. Her event management experience spans school, golf, river rafting, snowshoeing and even archery fundraisers, and working closely with local and national sponsors.

Debbie is passionate about taking organizations and programs to the next level, whether through developing boards, expanding external or internal events, cultivating new donors and stewarding existing ones, or by building volunteer resources. Her communication skills have enabled her to build strong relationships with local media and to develop robust internal marketing platforms. The web site she developed at Make-A-Wish became a model for the entire network and she earned national awards for the annual reports she compiled.

Debbie’s volunteerism includes board membership with Utah Philanthropy Day, Utah Society of Fundraisers, Children’s Theatre for Youth, and Wirral Hospice St. John’s. She currently serves on the board of Women of the World and looks forward to becoming increasingly involved in the worthy missions of local nonprofits.
