Jill Kirsling

katherineJill Kirsling is a certified public accountant with over 20 years accounting experience, most of which has been spent in the nonprofit sector. She has experience in all areas of nonprofit finance, including compliance with the Internal Revenue Service, State of Utah, and other granting and contracting agencies.

She has a thorough understanding of GAAP, procurement, cost principles, and compensation reporting requirements. She has successfully built and managed teams responsible for all finance, human resources, and general office administration of several organizations.  She has designed accounting systems, implemented software conversions, and developed reporting that aids in management insight, understanding and accountability. She has worked with Boards and internal management to design policies and procedures, and documentation, to ensure operational efficiency and continuity of systems in the event of staff turnover.

Her experience as a Chief Financial Officer includes the transition of an $8m organization from under the umbrella of a public entity into a stand-alone 501(c )(3). All financial systems, human resources, payroll processing, employee benefits, fleet administration, insurance requirements, and information systems administration were successfully transitioned under her direction.

In addition to nonprofit experience, Jill has several years of print and digital media experience, having served as the controller for CK Media and Creative Crafts Group, LLC, a publisher of a diverse mix of traditional magazines, online and digital media, multiple consumer and trade events, merchandising and domestic and international product licensing. At the time, the company had a combined circulation of 1.2 million subscribers, $35 million in annual sales and 80 employees. She managed a staff of nine in two locations responsible for all finance functions with a direct reporting line to the Board of Directors.

Jill is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, in the State of Utah, since 2002.
