Pathway Pays it Forward: Fourth Street Clinic

Paying it forward recognizes the gratitude we feel for what has come our way, and the compassion we have for those in need. We’re all in this together, and we are energized by innovative ideas that continue to inspire us all. During this time of hardship, our Pathway team is lifting up nonprofits throughout the region who are adapting in innovative ways - whether through new ways of service delivery, creative fundraising or other revenue generating ventures, smart operational adjustments, or any other brilliant ideas! We will feature one nonprofit in each of Pathway’s monthly newsletters, and the featured nonprofit will receive a $250 donation from Pathway. Nominate an organization who inspires you by sending an email to with the organization’s name and a few lines about their innovative adaptations.

This edition’s Pay it Forward recipient is: Fourth Street Clinic, for the attention and care their leadership – both senior management team and Board of Directors – has shown their entire team during these hard times for health care workers.

Fourth Street Clinic has been on the frontline of the pandemic and has continued to provide health care to those in our community experiencing homelessness.  It is a heavy load that we recognize weighs heavily on our staff.  To acknowledge and thank our staff, Fourth Street Clinics’ Senior Management Team and Board of Directors have recently supported team members in the following ways: virtual processing groups & individual sessions with a Ph.D. psychologist, three added PTO days around the holidays, a stipend for tent workers to purchase warm gear for the winter,  “Give Thanks” blankets to each staff member, weekly lunches, an onsite snack table, two family meals sent home in December with cookies and a gift, an annual gift card bonus, a staff-led meditation group, and paid off-site parking.  More was done early on in the pandemic, including a COVID bonus, meals, added days off, purchase of ice vests in the summer, a T-shirt design contest with everyone receiving a t-shirt and tote bag (filled with goodies) with winning designs.
